The State agency that issues licenses is Construction Industries Division State of New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department. New Mexico does not accept any license you may have from any other state. Licenses are issued for a three year period. A license bond ranging from $500 to $5,000 is required to establish financial responsibility depending on the anticipated dollar amount, number of permits, and projects in the state. There is no consumer financial protection.
